Suitable all year-round with pants, shorts, or even a slim-fitting mini skirt.
A PATTERN IN PDF or PAPER FORMAT
The pattern is available in pdf OR in paper format. The seam allowances are included (1 cm (⅜”)) .
If you opt for the pdf format, after your purchase you can download :
- 28-page pdf file to assemble (A4 or US letter / print at home),
- 15-page pdf file to assemble (A3 / print at copyshop),
- 2-page pdf file (A0 / copyshop),
- printing tips (in English and in French),
- an instruction booklet.
If you choose the paper format you will receive a printed folder with :
- A detailed instruction booklet,
- The pattern board (no overlapping pieces) in real size.
SUPPLIES
To make this blouse, you will need:
- Fabric:
- From size 34 to size 38: 2 yards
- From size 40 to size 46: 2 ¼ yards
- From size 48 to size 52: 2 ½ yards
- I recommend using a lightweight fabric such as viscose, crepe, or even polyester. If you are a beginner, you can always use a cotton poplin, but the drape will be stiffer.
- 50cm (20”) of fusible interfacing (that corresponds to the chosen fabric)
- 1 6 to 7mm sew-on snap fastener
- 3 1cm (⅜”) buttons
SIZES
The pattern of the Clara blouse ranges from size 34 to size 52. This blouse is worn loose and fits most body types.
This blouse is meant to be loose-fitting; if you are between sizes, you can choose the smaller size.
To help you choose the right size, you’ll find below the finished garment measurements:

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEW BUTTONHOLES
...Or if your machine is not equipped to sew them, you can skip the next step. To do so, pin the right front and the left front together by matching up the notches along the bottom edge (the left front crossing over the right front), and finish sewing the entire blouse.
Then, try the blouse on (without removing the pins holding the two fronts together). If you are able to get it on without a problem, you can then sew on decorative buttons that will also hold the two front pieces together; these buttons will be therefore stationary and you will no longer be able to open the blouse. If you are not able to get the blouse on with the front pieces pinned together, you can also sew in snap fasteners instead of buttons and buttonholes.
SOME IDEAS FOR CUSTOMIZATION
Feel free to let your creativity speak for itself! For example, you can use lace on the flouces. You can also try a dress version by increasing the height of the flounce.
