Olek is an ultra comfortable pair of pants or wide shorts. Its particularity? It is its set of pleats on the front that gives all its charm to this piece.
With its wide cut, Olek looks very much like a culotte skirt. However this model is not flared. This pattern is available in shorts, 7/8ths pants and pants.
These vintage looking pants/shorts are also functional with bias pockets on the front.
A PATTERN IN PDF or PAPER FORMAT
The pattern is available in pdf OR in paper format. The seam allowances are included (1 cm (⅜”)) .
If you opt for the pdf format, after your purchase you can download :
- 28-page pdf file to assemble (A4 or US letter / print at home),
- a pdf file composed of 2 A0 pages,
- printing tips (in English and in French),
- an instruction guide to sew the pants/shorts (you will find more than 40 illustrations to explain the step by step, QR codes to explain videos for some technical points, or tips for better sewing).
If you choose the paper format you will receive a printed folder with :
- A detailed instruction bookletto sew the pants or shorts.
- The pattern board (no overlapping pieces) in real size.
SUPPLIES
- From fabric of 140 cm width
- Short version: 1,30 meter
- Pants version 7/8ème 2,10 meters
- Pants version: 2.30 meters
👉 These pants/shorts are very wide. It must therefore be sewn in a fabric fluid medium weight (200-300 g/m²) to keep this airy effect.
👉 Heavy crepe, suiting/suit fabric, viscose jacquard, viscose twill or wool.
👉 For extra comfort, opt for a fabric with a bit of elastane.
- 35 cm of lining (for pockets) of 120 cm width
👉 Opt for a flowing fabric like viscose or a lining fabric.
- 1 button (diameter : 1,5 to 2 cm)
- 30 cm of iron-on interfacing (for a width of 90 cm)
👉 Opt for stretchy interlining for added comfort.
- 1 zipper for pants of 15 cm.

The Olek pattern goes from size 34 to size 48.
