Marinade is the smock that adds a pinch of salt and a good dose of freedom to your everyday life. Its straight, roomy cut lets you breathe (even after dessert), and its generous collar gives off that subtle “I don’t go to the seaside often, but I like to pretend I do” energy.

With or without a button placket, depending on your needs for the day: minimalist and understated or a statement of intent. The side slits provide just the right amount of ease, no more, no less.

And the best news? Marinade only has four pieces to assemble. It’s a smock with character, without requiring a PhD in patience: the kind of dish that practically simmers itself.

A pattern in PDF or paper format

To begin with, the pattern the Marinade smock is available inPDFOR paper format. In addition, seam allowances are included (1 cm (⅜”)).

Then, if you opt for the pdf format, after your purchase you will be able to download :

a PDF file (with size layers) consisting of 36 A4 (or US letter) pages to be assembled,
a PDF file (with size layers) consisting of 3 pages (A0 format),
printing & assembly tips (in English and in French),
as well as an instruction manual.

Finally, if you choose the paper format you will receive a printed folder with :

A detailed instruction booklet,
and also the full-size pattern board (no overlapping parts).

The equipment needed for the Marinade smock

To make this smock, you will need:

Fabric (55'' wide):
- Sizes 34-38: 1.80 meters (2y)
  Sizes 40-46: 2.40 meters (2⅝y)
  Sizes 48-52: 2.60 meters (2⅞y)

Recommended fabrics: flannel, cotton poplin, chambray, gabardine, denim, velvet, fleece, cotton/viscose blend.

1 meter (1⅛y) of fusible interfacing.
[for the version with button placket] 1 button, 1.5 cm (⅝’’) in diameter.
