The removable Victorian pattern

During this period of confinement, to take your mind off things, it is with great pleasure that I offer youthis little pattern: theremovable Victorian collar. If you're a fan of frills, this accessory is for you 😉

This sewing project is perfect for using up yourfabric scraps. If you have a lot of them at home, I made a video with some ideas for using them:

Which fabric should you choose?

First of all, for this removable Victorian collar, I recommend a "stiff" fabric that is not too thick, such as cotton poplin. You can also choose a different fabric for the gathers. Personally, I sewed one version with a broderie anglaise ruffle and another with lace.

Why a detachable collar?

I chose to make this collar removable so that you can easily attach it to all your round-neck tops. Whether you wear it under a T-shirt, sweater, or sweatshirt, the choice is yours 😉

This can be particularly useful if you don't want to wear several layers when it's not very cold.

During winter, it is also more comfortable not to wear a cotton poplin undershirt. Indeed, under warm clothing, poplin is not the most comfortable fabric.

Finally, on the practical side, the removable collar fastens at the back with three buttons. But you can also opt for snap fasteners or adhesive Velcro.
